Pennsylvania Operators
In Pennsylvania,
Act 131 requires one supervisory employee per establishment
to be certified in food safety and sanitation A minimum
test score of 75% is required for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania The
mandatory compliance date for the Food Employee Certification
is July 1, 2004.
Pennsylvania State law requires a total of 16 hours (8
hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of home study
time). Home study consists of reading the ServSafe® book
and answering all of the true/false and multiple choice questions
in each chapter.
