Not every state will accept every course, however, most will accept any ANSI accredited food safety manager exam. It’s really the exam that matters. There are currently six (6) approved ANSI accredited exams.

A good food safety training program will offer flexible learning options. In-person classes should be offered at regular intervals and at different times for those with busy schedules.

Online classes should allow you to take the class at your own pace, while still offering quality education. While online learning can present its own challenges, there are ways of making it easier.

Whether you decide to take a class online or in-person, local laws may dictate that the class has a required length. It may last a few hours, all day, or several days.

Affordable Classes

It doesn’t matter how good the safety training is if your organization can’t afford it. Food safety training for employees and managers should be affordable. You should also see if they offer discounts for group or bulk orders.

It’s important to get your food safety certificate as soon as you can. Some states require you to get your certificate within 30 days of employment. Others require it to be done within 60 or 90 days.

But for best practice, you should get it as soon as possible. Certificates aren’t issued until after the exam is completed.
